Bar photography is mood-first, drink-second. The buyer is the bar manager or venue owner, and the brief is usually atmosphere + cocktails + event-ready promotional content for social media. Backlit translucent glassware, condensation on the glass, pour and shake action, the room at golden hour, the bartender mid-stir. We shoot bars in the afternoon (controlled light, no customers) or during a twilight evening session (real ambience). Both have their place.
What we shoot · Bars
Most bar shoots run as a twilight-to-evening block: we arrive 90 minutes before golden hour for empty-room interior frames, shift to cocktails at sunset when the bar's own lighting becomes the signature, then move to bartender action and ambient crowd as service starts. Afternoon shoots (2pm–5pm, bar closed) give the most controlled lighting and are best when you need clean cocktail product shots for a menu refresh. The choice depends on whether you need atmosphere or precision — most bar briefs need both, on different shoot days.
Cocktail hero frames — backlit glassware, garnish detail, condensation, optional motion blur on pour
Spirit and wine list photography — backlit bottles, label-forward, suitable for menu boards
Bar back, bottle wall and bartender action shots — stirring, shaking, garnish-finish
Venue interior at golden hour and after-dark — atmospheric crowd shots or empty-room editorial
